Dynamic loading test for endosseous dental implants

A method for dynamic testing of transmucosal single-post endosseous dental implants and their prefabricated restorative components. It is most useful for comparing endosseous dental implants of different designs or sizes. This International Standard is not a test of the fatigue properties of materials used in the manufacture of endosseous implants and prosthetic components. Although ISO 14801 simulates worst-case functional loading of endosseous dental implants, it is not suitable for predicting the in vivo performance of endosseous dental implants or dental restorations, especially if multiple endosseous dental implants are used in one prosthesis.
